Dr Sue Marsden

Intention Tapping Practitioner, Palliative medicine specialist

Contact Details:

Sue Marsden is a Palliative Medicine specialist living in Northland New Zealand. She moved into Palliative Medicine from Oncology about 30 years ago. Sue was fortunate that about the same time she met Elisabeth Kubler Ross which started a journey recognizing the critical importance of self-awareness in clinical practice. She became part of Elisabeth’s facilitating team in Australasia and went on to do similar workshops in South East Asia, Zimbabwe as well as Australasia and USA.

Sue was introduced to tapping by a colleague more than 20 years ago, initially with EFT and soon recognized its potential when working with people in palliative care towards the end of life. About 15 years ago Sue met Steve Wells and David Lake at one of their workshops in Sydney. From this dynamic duo she learnt their simpler version of tapping-SET. This she has found much easier to use both personally and with patients. More recently she found Steve’s IEP innovation exciting, again both personally and with patients.

In recent years it has been heartwarming to have tapping used more and more in hospice and palliative care in New Zealand. The interest and experience of nursing and medical colleagues allowing a team approach with patients using tapping has made this possible.

Sue continues to work in palliative care providing locum cover. She is keen to also offer sessions to people with loss and grief issues and those struggling to come to terms with health challenges either in person or online.
